Blue Lights; Red Bottom

Dec 3, 2017 by

My first thought when I noticed flashing blue lights bearing down on me on the four lane was not, “Oh, gosh, this is really going to end up hurting my pocketbook.”

Nor was it my second thought. Or even my third.

I was much too busy with a more basic trio of thoughts:

“Oh, gosh, this is really going to end up hurting my bottom.”

“Oh, gosh, this is really going to end up hurting my bottom a lot.”

“Oh, gosh, this is really going to end up hurting my bottom more than anything has in a long time.”

I was right. As usual.

Why can’t I be wrong. Just every once in a while.

Sigh …

Oh, PA! I’m so sorry.

I do understand the thought of OTHER consequences. It is also funny how events come in threes. For me it was DC, late bedtime, and late coffee.

By the way, did you know you could get :spank: ed for almost getting a speeding ticket? Just getting stopped is a good reason. :pout:

Oh, poor Princess! :weep: You do have the worst luck with those blue lights, dontcha? :switching: :belt:

Or is that the best luck? :hehe:  :geek:

  5. Jan and Jane, Ang and Audrey. The Coincidencometer is  :hifive: :excited:

But poor PA. At least it’s all behind her now. :rub_bum:

Jeez, if I ever had to drive in Florida, I’d be doing so at one mile an hour. :nervous:

 …behind her now. Good one, Uncle Dev.

I’d like to say this name game isn’t a coincidence, but I can’t. Sorry, Janie.

Driving in Florida can be very unnerving, but I don’t think it really matters where one gets pulled over in this case.

Thanks, ya’ll, for the hugs and the chocolate and the sympathy and the empathy, and all that stuff.
And, yes, blue lights are NOT my friends. Janie, you don’t have to be so careful in Florida. I was two states away, at the time — and they are supposed to like me in the state I was in. As Mr. Policeman explained it, he would “like me” to stay alive.” Very difficult to argue with.
You can be sure I drove at or below the actual speed limit the rest of the way. Of course, that had something to do with not wanting to arrive at what awaited me :foottap: :spank: one bit sooner than necessary. :spank:

  9. I, too, would like you to stay alive, PA, and I’m glad the officer mentioned that, as well. But whatever awaited you at journey’s end was, no doubt, a much needed additional reminder to pay attention to the rules, both of the cop and of the top who has your best interests at heart and your bottom right where it needs to be in order to assure those interests are safeguarded. :puff:
